During 2008/2009, Sarah Redgwick made debuts as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) with London Lyric Opera and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and as Violetta (La Traviata) for Scottish Opera, for whom she has also recently sung Giannetta (L'Elisir d'Amore) and Pousette (Manon).
Born in Wakefield, she graduated with first class honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed her studies in the postgraduate Opera course, winning the GSMD Gold Medal for Singers.
Previous engagements have included Marzelline (Fidelio – Opera Holland Park, Scottish Opera), Sidonie (Armide – Buxton Festival), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and Brigitta (Iolanta – Opera Holland Park), Mimi (La Bohème – Scottish Opera on Tour), Clorinda (La Cenerentola – Welsh National Opera), Adèle (Die Fledermaus and Actor in A Night at the Chinese Opera – Scottish Opera) the Mahagonny Songspiel (BBC Kurt Weill Festival at the Barbican), Violetta (La Traviata – Opéra de Baugé), Second Playmate (Der Zwerg – Opera North) and Essential Scottish Opera on tour.
Regular concert engagements have included recent performances with the Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oxford Philomusica and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
She was chosen to represent Scottish Opera on STV's Scottish Royal Variety Variety Performance and her current engagements include Marzelline in the revival of Olivia Fuchs' production of Fidelio for Opera Holland Park, Elvira in L'italiana in Algeri for the Opéra de Limoges and Gilda Rigoletto for Opéra de Baugé.
